Jona relocated from South Korea to the United States in 1975. Before Winkelmann, she worked as an Escrow Assistant for three years.
In August of 2005, she received her Real Estate license. She became a Certified Relo® Coordinator in 2005 and World Relocation Specialist in 2006 for the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World.
