Mike joined Winkelmann Realty in 2010- He has been a licensed Broker in California for over 30 years. He began his real estate career in 1972 and joined Dilbeck Realtors in 1973 and served as salesperson, manager, Vice President and ultimately as President and CEO of the company. It was in 1998 that Mike and his wife, Jill acquired Morgan Lane, a real estate brokerage company specializing in luxury country, rural, suburban and urban properties in the Wine Country. Morgan Lane became one of the premier independent real estate firms representing vineyard and estate properties and one of the most well respected real estate companies in the area.
Mike brings to Winkelmann Realty a keen understanding of all aspects of Real Estate. He has had an impressive impact on the industry as a whole. Over the years, he has lent his expertise to various committees within organized real estate, including the Legislative Committee for the California Association of Realtors, as President of the Pasadena Association of Realtors, where he was twice selected as Realtor of the Year. He has been a state director for the California Association of Realtors, a past Chairman and member of the board of directors of Real Estate Business Technologies (REBT), a for profit subsidiary of the California Association of Realtors in partnership with the National Association of Realtors. REBT is known for its development of “Relay,” the Realtor-owned web based transaction management platform. He has been vice chair and twice appointed to the California Association of Realtor’s Strategic Planning and Finance Committee which is responsible for overseeing the annual budget and finances of the Association and monitoring and planning for the future of the industry. Mike served as the first Chairman of the Board of the newly formed CalMLS, Inc (calREDD), the statewide multiple listing service initiative for the California Association of Realtors.
Mike’s involvement is not limited to the real estate industry. He is a past Associate Director for the Napa County Resource Conservation District and is the immediate past Chairman of the Napa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In addition, he has served as a member of the Business Advisory Committee of the Napa Valley Community College and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Queen of the Valley Hospital. He has been actively involved in community organizations both in Southern California and in the North Bay, serving as the Honorary Mayor of the City of La Crescenta, a past President and member of the JayCees and served on the Board of Directors of Sycamore (now Hathaway-Sycamore) House, a not-for-profit children’s health and welfare center.
With a long standing relationship between himself and company founder Gloria Winkelmann, Mike is finely in tune with Winkelmann’s history, integrity and professionalism and will continue to assist current company President and CEO, Karen Edmonds, in leading Winkelmann Realty into the future with the same pioneering spirit, and dedication to unparalleled service.
