Building a career with a long standing reputation of true professionalism and knowledge has been Val Muir’s goal throughout her 25 years in the real estate industry.
Val established the foundation and confidence she needed to pursue her own career goals while starting as a real estate assistant at one of North Orange County’s top-producing and well-respected brokers. Learning the process of how the industry functioned from behind the scenes helped Val understand that being an agent is more than just about listing and selling houses. Val learned right from the start that listening and communicating were most important skills to achieve satisfied clients. She also realized that educating and teaching her clients about the real estate market is essential in enabling them to make well-informed decisions.
Val has endured and thrived in the ever-changing market by keeping up on the latest trends and technology available. Although technology has become more useful to busy real estate professionals, it is no substitute for the satisfaction Val receives through constant, face-to-face interaction with her clients. She has never forgotten that real estate is a “people business.”
For most of her career, Val has specialized in residential real estate and corporate relocation. First-time home buyers also have been a large segment of her clientele over the years. She believes that it is essential that the real estate industry cultivate the entry-level buyer. Providing professional guidance to first-timer buyers and those who may have previously owned a home keeps the cycle going. It is important to Val that these buyers are well-represented, ensuring that they will not be exploited or manipulated in the process. “It is truly satisfying to help a family through their first home purchase, especially when they weren’t sure it was even possible.”
Winkelmann Realty continues to be a pioneer in the minority and women owned business arena. Val is proud to have been a part of the Winkelmann Team for the last 15 years. Unsurpassed in the corporate relocation industry, Winkelmann Realty requires all of their agents to maintain a high level of professionalism and education.
Val and her husband Bob have been married 19 years and are long time Fullerton residents. “I live and work in a community that knows the importance of family.” Working as a real estate agent has allowed Val to preserve the balance needed to pursue her career goals as well care for her family. “I am proud to serve as an example to my daughters Lillie and Ruby, demonstrating that women with the support of their families can achieve their dreams through commitment and hard work.”
Val brings her love of family to her real estate relationships. She naturally connects more warmly and personably with customers and prospects than the broader range of salespeople, viewing her business relationships as part of an extended family. Val’s personal signature is treating people with the kind of warmth which is usually reserved for family members. This central trait has allowed her to attain success in an industry that at times has been considered less than consumer friendly. The family principal is not a game, gimmick or a trend to Val. “I want the best for my family, why wouldn’t I want the same thing for all of my clients? It is the only way I know how to do business”. – Valerie Silva-Muir
